There are many types of counselling and methods worked with. The main counselling basis is to support our clients.
Whilst there may be a preference for example CBT or say working from a Jungian perspective, this will depend on you the client and what works for you. Goodness, sand play (using small figures in a sandbox) can have some immediate and surprising outcomes however it’s not for everyone.
Like any other service you may access – the outcome is what is sought, let’s see what resonates for you . . .

counselling or coaching?
Whilst this may appear the same however a simple difference could be that a coach may advise how to get from A to B – how to do something from weight loss to career changes.
With a counsellor this is going to be more about finding the answers within, we don’t advise, we don’t direct we encourage, we cajole and we keep you at the centre of the discussion regarding finding what is at the core of your grief, distress, confusion, anxiety.
Sometimes you will need both, there is no one size fits all we all operate in a different way.
